On-line measurement of diameter and wall thickness. The TwinEye600 system is designed for on-line diameter, ovality and wall thickness measurement of PE, PVDF and PVC of pipes.
The TwinEye600 system consist of a sturdy closed cabinet, with a tunnel through which the produced pipes are moved. The Measurement equipment is based on the TwinEye principle and consists of two x-ray sources and two detector arrays. The system is accompanied by an extensive and user-friendly software package, tailor made for the individual application. |

Measurement principle The pipe system is exposed to fan shaped beams emitted perpendicularly to pipe axis from two X-ray sources. The intensity of radiation transmitted through the cross section is detected by two sensor arrays mounted opposite the sources. The sensor signals are processed to give a detailed map of the pipe structures. The TwinEye600 system measures in 4 different positions around the pipe. The measurement is performed with a frequency of 50 measurements/sec, which makes the system insensitive to vibrations and transversal movements of the pipe during production. |
